“Growing up, I spent most of my teenage years splitting my time between Kreuzberg and Potsdam,” explains photographer Tim Grupp when asked about the inspiration behind his Schön! editorial. “Long train rides that would bring me to either destination. Home was loud and violent so we spent most of our time getting into trouble outside. That train ride was the time when everything went silent. And that train, that silence, was what took his life. Through this story, I felt like I was able to take a glimpse back into my past but celebrate the present of being in Los Angeles and having a medium to recreate some of my memories with my camera.”
